Product
development begins with an idea and ends with the successful launch of
a new product. The steps between these points can be viewed as a
dynamic process. Phase-Gate divides this process into a series of
activities (Phases) and decision points (gates). Phases Each phase
contains a set of defined concurrent activities, incorporating industry
best practices. Activities during each phase are executed in
parallel to enhance speed to market. This is further enhanced by the
use of cross-functional teams all working towards the same goals. Gates
are the decision points where senior leaders decide whether to continue
a project. The outcome of the decision is either go, stop or hold the
